FREE with Museum Admission
Lutz Garden @ 500 Sampsonia Way
Spring is here and we are excited to be outside! When Winifred Lutz started the garden at the museum she excavated the space to uncover the foundation of the building that had once stood next to the Mattress Factory. She was interested in the history and memory of what she was uncovering. We will be excavating small treasures together in the garden and creating stories for what we uncover!
Twice a month, on the first and third Saturdays, visitors are invited to participate in a range of art-making activities that illuminate the creative process of in-residence artists. Projects and materials are developed to complement current and ongoing exhibitions. This program is free with museum admission and highly recommended for individuals or families with children of all ages.
Mattress Factory Education and Community progams are made possible by the generous support from the Allegheny Regional Asset District, Milton & Sally Avery Arts Foundation, Jack Buncher Foundation, Sheila Fortune Foundation, Grable Foundation, The Heinz Endowments, Pennsylvania Council on the Arts and The Sprout Fund.
