FREE with Museum Admission
Museum Lobby @ 500 Sampsonia Way
Join artist and MF educator Elise Walton on a journey inspired by Winifred Lutz and Rolf Julius. Visitors will create leaves and other natural elements by ironing plastic bags into a fused fabric. Participants will install these leaves into the garden and create a drop of confusion in an expected landscape.
Twice a month, on the first and third Saturdays, visitors are invited to participate in a range of art-making activities that illuminate the creative process of in-residence artists. Projects and materials are developed to complement current and ongoing exhibitions. This program is free with museum admission and highly recommended for individuals or families with children of all ages.
Mattress Factory Education and Community progams are made possible by the generous support from the Allegheny Regional Assets District, Milton & Sally Avery Arts Foundation, Jack Buncher Foundation, Sheila Fortune Foundation, Grable Foundation, Pennsylvania Council on the Arts and Surdna Foundation.
