FREE with Museum Admission
Museum Lobby @ 500 Sampsonia Way
We are celebrating the 35th Anniversary of the Mattress Factory all year long. As part of this we want to explore our permanent collection with a project inspired by Yayoi Kusama and James Turrell. Participants will create unique sculptural objects and check out their glow-factor in a custom-built black-light booth.
Twice a month, on the first and third Saturdays, visitors are invited to participate in a range of art-making activities that illuminate the creative process of in-residence artists. Projects and materials are developed to complement current and ongoing exhibitions. This program is free with museum admission and highly recommended for individuals or families with children of all ages.
Mattress Factory Education and Community progams are made possible by the generous support from the Allegheny Regional Assets District, Milton & Sally Avery Arts Foundation, Jack Buncher Foundation, Sheila Fortune Foundation, Grable Foundation, Pennsylvania Council on the Arts and Surdna Foundation.
