FREE with Museum Admission
Museum Lobby @ 500 Sampsonia Way
Grab a piece of drywall and inscribe something on it, drawing on it as a way of thinking about the walls that contain and define our lives. We will explore the walls that you cherish, the walls that you call home, the walls that divide, and the surfaces that surround us every day. Hands-on, drop in, for all ages!
Twice a month, on the first and third Saturdays, visitors are invited to participate in a range of art-making activities that illuminate the creative process of in-residence artists. Projects and materials are developed to complement current and ongoing exhibitions. This program is free with museum admission and highly recommended for individuals or families with children of all ages.
Mattress Factory Education and Community progams are made possible by the generous support from the Allegheny Regional Assets District, Milton & Sally Avery Arts Foundation, Jack Buncher Foundation, Sheila Fortune Foundation, Grable Foundation, Pennsylvania Council on the Arts and Surdna Foundation.
