4. What did your school, house or neighborhood look like before there were buildings there? What will it look like in the future if that same space is abandoned?

ACTIVITY

The Mattress Factory Garden Installation features a chair in an area called The Private Prairie. This area, along with the rest of the garden, changes with the seasons. How do areas, parks or gardens in your community change over time and with the seasons? Document these changes through photography or drawing. Take time to notice small changes in the landscape. Imagine how the landscape will continue to change if left untouched – draw or write about this. Imagine this space in one year, ten years or 100 years.  Imagine this same landscape with human intervention – draw or write about this.
