Have you ever wanted to ask an artist about their work? Or wondered where they got their inspiration? We offer MF Members a unique opportunity to meet current or upcoming museum artists for a morning of coffee and conversation. Join us for the fresh face-to-face opportunity to ask an artist anything!

 

March 10, 2018: Beth Corning
Meet artistic director, choreographer, and dancer Beth Corning, whose site-specific piece IN HOUSE will be performed at the Mattress Factory March 14 through 18.

 

April 21, 2018: Alex Hibbitt
Meet with ceramic artist and professor Alex Hibbitt to discuss her installation, Rhizome: Intrastructure, located in the lobby of our main building.

 

May 26, 2018: Mbovu Malinga
Mbovu Malinga is a performing artist, specializing in theater and dance, as well as a community activist who works with children in Cape Town and the surrounding rural areas. Mbovu joins us from South Africa for our upcoming exhibition Civil Rights and Civil Wrongs.

 

June 2, 2018: Alisha Wormsley
Alisha Wormsley uses photography, video, and sculpture to examine collective memories, the synchronicity of time, and racial identity and history. This Pittsburgh-based artist is also a part of Civil Rights and Civil Wrongs.
