Description
John Schulman is a poet and an antiquarian bookseller. A poem, in fact a sestina, is read at the opening of this exhibition, but copies are available in the installation. The poet-bookseller reflects on the destruction of Baghdad's library with surprising local and national references. Visitors are invited to take home a volume from the bookcase either to read it or burn it.
About the Artist
John Schulman is a poet and co-owner of Caliban Book Shop, a used and rare bookstore in Pittsburgh, PA.
