Bob Karstadt

December 5, 1998
Described by Karstadt as a "battle between agratian and technological materials," this performance involved the audience in ritual manipulation and transformation of domestic objects and materials as a form of "symbolic communication."

The piece progressed through a series of actions by the artist and the audience, using materials such as lead, corn, honey, vinegar, salt, and constructions made of found objects.

The resulting experience is a "carnival of earth magic of alchemical activities" in which the artist uses materials to change people's perceptions and to create altered states of consciousness.
