Join us for an informal discussion with "Factory Installed" artist Bill Smith and CMU School of Architecture Professor Eddy Man Kim! Cash bar.

With a background in sculpture, microbiology, chemistry and mechanics, Bill Smith creates technology-based art inspired by nature's functional complexity. By understanding the way nature works on a microscopic level, his work mimics nature's growth characteristics and inherent beauty. Smith has had solo exhibitions at P.P.O.W Gallery, NY; Saint Louis Art Museum; and Chicago Cultural Center. He has also participated in residencies at the Fabric Workshop, Philadelphia.

Eddy Man Kim is a designer, researcher, educator, and entrepreneur. Eddy Man is currently a teaching professor at Carnegie Mellon University School of Archictecture where he was awarded the George N. Pauly, Jr. Fellowship for the academic year of 2014/2015. A technologist and futurist at hear, Eddy Man is interested in interdisciplinary efforts to mutually augment design and technology--especially as they relate to current trends in web technology.
