Lynne Yamamoto

American, b. 1961
Lynne Yamamoto  was born in 1961 in Hawai'i. She spent her childhood within the heart of the Japanese community, which emigrated to Hawai'i at the turn of the century. She studied visual arts in Hawai'i, Paris and completed the Independent Study Program at the Whitney Museum in New York City. Since 1982, Yamamoto has taken part in a large number of exhibitions. An educator at the Metropolitan Museum of Art and the Cooper - Hewitt Museum in New York, she is also an Associate Professer at Smith College teaching installation art and 3-D design.
