STORYTELLING

Inspired by MF Artist Charlie Jansen, Mini-Factory artists will make and use puppets in service to narrative art. This interactive learning program is designed for children ages 3-5. FREE for MF Members // $5 for one child + one caregiver. Registration is required.

Film Premiere | Site-Specific: A History of the Mattress Factory

Pittsburgh filmmaker David Bernabo will premiere a feature-length documentary chronicling the 40-year history of the Mattress Factory with a FREE screening on May 3. Please RSVP.

Coffee Date with Asanda Kupa

MF Members are invited to meet artist Asanda Kupa for a morning of coffee, tea and treats. Asanda works in painting and printmaking speaking directly to South Africa’s dramatic socio-economic inequalities, troubled political landscape and the atrocities of the mining industry.

MF Members are invited to meet with Pittsburgh-based artist Alisha Wormsley, whose work will be featured in MF exhibition Civil Rights and Civil Wrongs. Alisha uses photography, video, and sculpture to examine collective memories, the synchronicity of time, and racial identity and history.
