COVID Policies

Updated June 4, 2021

Over the past year, the Mattress Factory has followed government and public health guidance to keep our staff and visitors safe. We thank you for your continued help and support!

We have reviewed recent guidance from Pennsylvania and are working with many other regional museums and cultural institutions for a consistent, safe approach across our institutions.

Our Hours

The Museum is now open on Thursday – Sunday, 11 AM – 6 PM and Wednesday, 11 AM – 8 PM.

Purchase Your Tickets in Advance Online

To manage the number of the visitors in the Museum, we are using a timed-entry system and encourage you to purchase tickets online before arriving at the Museum.

Purchase your tickets HERE.

When you arrive at the Museum, you will need to show either a digital or paper copy of your e-ticket at Admissions. You may arrive at any time during your half-hour time slot.

Wear a Mask

Until June 28 or until all State mask mandates are lifted, the Mattress Factory asks visitors and staff to continue to wear masks while indoors except in designated dining areas.

If you have a medical condition that prevents you from wearing a mask, please notify the Museum in advance via info@mattress.org or 412-231-3169.

Practice Social Distancing

Please practice social distancing by maintaining space from others outside your group.

What to Expect During Your Visit

James Turrell’s Pleiades remains temporarily closed.

All changes to traffic flow and exhibitions are noted on signage throughout the Museum. In our Main Building, we ask that guests without mobility concerns take the elevator to floor 4 and descend via the stairs.

All exhibits and high-traffic areas are thoroughly cleaned on a regular basis. Hand sanitizer stations are available on every floor of the Museum and at every desk, and plexiglass shields are in place at Admissions, MF Shop and Boxspring Café.

If you have medical concerns, we encourage you to contact info@mattress.org for help in planning your visit. If you feel ill or have recently come in contact with someone who is exhibiting symptoms of COVID-19, please stay home. We will be excited to welcome you back at a later date.
