Event Summary

Join us at the Mattress Factory for a Coffee Date with artist Andréa Stanislav and friends!

Back from her NYC studio for a weekend of programming at the Mattress Factory, Factory Installed 2021 artist Andréa Stanislav and some of the key collaborators on her current installation “Surmatants – Mars Rising” will meet with members to discuss their artistic practice and experience developing and installing at the Museum during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Joining Stanislav is Jesse Gelaznik, music director and founder of New York-based performance art collective Dirty Churches, as well as Charlotta Kotik, noted art historian and Curator Emerita of Contemporary Arts at the Brooklyn Museum. Stanislav, Gelaznik and Kotik will discuss bringing a timely exhibition to life through intense community research and extensive collaboration during a period in which both seemed nearly impossible. Complimentary coffee and pastries will be served.
