Join the Mattress Factory and exhibiting artist Bekezela Mguni for a Member Coffee Date! Members of all levels can meet with us over complimentary coffee and pastries on a Saturday morning to take a tour of and learn about Mguni’s installation, I come from a holy place as well as about her practice and experience participating in the Mattress Factory’s latest exhibition, Pop-Aganda: Revolution and Iconography.
Proof of vaccination or negative COVID test taken within 48 hours will be required upon entry to this program.

About Bekezela Mguni
Bekezela Mguni is a queer Trinidadian artist, librarian, birth worker and educator. She is the founder of the Black Unicorn Library and Archives Project, a Black feminist community library. Bekezela is a member of BOOM Concepts, a community space and gallery dedicated to supporting artists and creative entrepreneurs, and serves as the Education Program Director at Dreams of Hope for queer youth arts and leadership.
