The MF is an organization built upon the dedication of volunteers and interns. There are a variety of ways to get involved and support the Museum's operations, programs, outreach and events. Internships are offered year-round. Scheduling for internships is flexible.

Volunteer
The MF is always looking for reliable, personable volunteers to contribute to the museum’s mission. Volunteers help in various departments within the Museum such as visitor services, exhibitions, education, and more. Must be 18+ to volunteer with exhibitions.

Marketing Project Manager: Full-Time Position

The Mattress Factory is at an exciting moment for our marketing and communications team; we are preparing to launch refreshed branding, a new website, and several other new initiatives. We’re seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Marketing Project Manager to join our team. The ideal candidate will assist in the planning, execution, and tracking of a variety of marketing projects and initiatives and will work closely with our external marketing agency, Outmark®. This person will play a pivotal role in executing our mission, enhancing our image, and delivering our message.

Tour Guide, part-time, hours vary

Ideal candidates will be enthusiastic about connecting visitors with exhibitions and the artistic process in the gallery setting. Tour Guides must have a collaborative approach to bringing together excellent customer service, thoughtful engagement strategies and artist-centered content. Tour Guides must be able to lead tours on site, for in-person groups of varying sizes, and able to dedicate at least ten hours per month to on-site work.

Teen Art Cooperative Workshop Artists, for our Fall and Spring semesters between October and May

The Mattress Factory is seeking interesting and creative people to lead one-session workshops during the Teen Art Cooperative program. Workshops are one to two hours long between 4-6 PM on Thursday afternoons and should focus on a specific idea, skill, project, or technique. They can take the form of a studio visit, skill share, performance, demonstration, discussion panel or some other participatory event.

Compensation for a workshop is $200 and there is a small materials budget available. Creative individuals from all disciplines are encouraged to apply.

Visitor Experience Associate, part-time, WED 10:45AM-8PM and THU-SUN 10:45AM-6PM, as needed

Visitor Experience Associates play a key role in providing a positive and insightful visitor experience by providing excellent customer service and facilitating a deeper understanding of the installations. While maintaining an approachable, enthusiastic demeanor, you monitor gallery spaces, welcome guests, sell tickets at the front desk and assist in the MF Shop as needed. $13.00/hour. Benefits include paid time off.
