After School @ the Factory is a free art program for students grades 3-5. Join our Mattress Factory Teaching Artists as they lead you on creative adventures inspired by our exhibiting artists from around the world and around the corner. Each semester, students will try new techniques, experiment with materials, and engage in conversation about artists, community, and ideas.

Garden Party Weekend is the annual fundraising and community weekend for the Mattress Factory. The weekend of celebration begins with the Garden Party, the Museum's signature fundraising event that attracts art collectors, urban professionals, artists, creatives and influencers for a highly-anticipated evening of eclectic foods, beverages, entertainment, and of course, art. The fun continues at the all-ages Community Garden Party, where Northside neighbors, as well as families from around the region, enjoy a FREE day of admission to the Museum, music and numerous hands-on immersive art experiences.
An event series through March and April leading up to the launch of an online finding aid to celebrate the famed artist Greer Lankton. The series will culminate in Greer’s Birthday Bash on April 21 - what would have been Greer's 64th birthday.
In addition to free Museum admission for a full year, Mattress Factory members enjoy free programs that provide exclusive opportunities to venture deeper inside of the "art you can get into." Meet with exhibiting artists and curators to learn about their installations and creative processes, get behind-the-scenes sneak peeks of what's coming next and network with other art lovers and experts in the Pittsburgh region!
Join us for Summer @ the Factory! Mattress Factory is hosting virtual and in-person classes for ages 7-14 through July and August. These classes are designed to be hands-on experiences that allows our young artists to explore new materials and art making processes inspired by the amazing work in our galleries!
TEEN ART COOPERATIVE is a year-long program for teens focused on collaboration, creative practice and exploration. This program is for self-motivated students who are interested in learning about how a museum operates as well as how to sustain a life of creative practice [translation: be an ARTIST]. 6 free workshops, from 6 different artists, focusing on 6 different creative processes! Rising Sophomores, Juniors and Seniors are welcome to pick and choose the workshops (one or more or all!) that sound most intriguing to them. Each workshop is led by a different artist excited to share their creative vision with adventurous teens this summer!
