New Hours

To ensure extra time for our new enhanced sanitation procedures, we are changing our hours!

Effective July 8, the museum will be open on Wednesday, 11 AM – 8 PM and Thursday – Sunday, 11 AM – 5 PM.

11 AM – 12 PM each day will be generally reserved for at-risk visitors. Please be respectful of this request when purchasing tickets.

Purchase Your Tickets in Advance Online

To limit the number of the visitors in the museum at a time, we are instituting a timed-entry system. All visitors must purchase their tickets online before arriving at the museum.

PURCHASE YOUR TICKETS HERE.

When you arrive at the museum, you will need to show either a digital or paper copy of your e-ticket at admissions. You may arrive at any time during the first half-hour of your time slot, but please do not arrive before the time on your ticket.

Wear a Mask

For your safety and the safety of all visitors and staff, masks are required for everyone inside the museum.

If you have a medical condition that prevents you from wearing a mask, please notify museum in advance via info@mattress.org or 412.231.3169.

Practice Social Distancing

All visitors will be required to adhere to social distancing guidelines of at least six feet. To help maintain social distancing, we have placed markers on the floor and redesigned traffic flow to limit interaction.

Exhibitions where social distancing cannot be observed will be temporarily closed or re-configured. For this reason, James Turrell’s Pleiades will be temporarily closed.

All changes to traffic flow and exhibitions will be noted on signage throughout the museum and in the Gallery Guides.

Limit Touching

As you navigate the Museum, MF Shop and Boxspring Café, please refrain from touching surfaces unless necessary. Hand sanitizer will be located throughout the museum for your use.

We are also encouraging cashless payments wherever available. Please plan to use credit cards in place of cash transactions in the Shop and Cafe.

MF Shop and Boxspring Café

The MF Shop will re-open with the museum.

The Boxspring Café will reopen at a later date – please stay tuned for details.

What We’re Doing to Keep You Safe

We are instituting enhanced sanitation procedures across our campus, including:

  • All exhibits and high-traffic areas will be thoroughly cleaned on a regular basis.
  • Additional disinfecting will occur on an hourly basis, focusing on higher-traffic areas.
  • The museum will be deep cleaned every Monday and Tuesday, with the hour of 10 -11 AM each morning dedicated to cleaning.
  • Restrooms will be regularly cleaned and sanitized.
  • Hand sanitizer stations will be available on every floor of the museum and at every desk.
  • Plexiglass shields will be installed at the Admissions desk, the MF Shop and Boxspring Café.

If you feel ill or have recently come in contact with someone who is exhibiting symptoms of COVID-19, please stay home. We will be excited to welcome you back at a later date.
