(Virtual) Summer @ the Factory

To protect the safety of our guests, artists, participants and team in the midst of COVID-19, the Mattress Factory has made the difficult decision to cancel in-person Summer Camps this year. However, we are excited to launch four Virtual Summer Camps designed to engage children in meaningful art-making and discussion from any location!

Virtual Summer Camps

July 20 - August 14, we will offer four, week-long Virtual Camps for ages 7-13. Unfortunately, we will not be able to offer Mini-Camps (ages 4-6) this summer.

July 20-24: The Plot Thickens

Ages 7-10

9:00-11:30am - $125/child

Are you an actor, a dancer, or set designer? It takes many skills to create a show. Consider how characters, plot, and setting come together to tell epic and mysterious tales. In this camp, we’ll use Zoom to produce virtual tales of wonder and adventure!

July 27-31: Find Your Virtual Voice

Ages 11-13

9:00-11:30am - $125/child

Artists from around the world do more than create beautiful things to look at by using their work to explore who they are and what they care about. What is it you want to say, and how will you get people to listen? Through a variety of mediums, this week-long camp will explore how art has been used to send a message, on topics big and small, and allow students to create written and visual works that showcase their individual passions.

August 3-7: Exploration of Spaces and Imagined Places

Ages 7-10

9:00-11:30am - $125/child

In this camp, we will explore and transform the spaces around us in creative ways. Use your imagination to build unique structures like forts and secret hideouts that transport you to another place and time! We will incorporate installation art, architecture, design, and adventure into our week together.

August 10-14: Reduce, Reuse & Recreate

Ages 11-13

9:00-11:30am - $125/child

In this camp, the lines between trash and treasure cease to exist. Rather than focusing on traditional art tools and materials, we will create works of art by using natural and recycled materials that we collect and assemble throughout the week! Our goal is to find and appreciate creative tools and materials all around us in everyday life.
