An open box is the only object in the gallery.
The aluminum cube, whose grey surface has been sandblasted and oiled, was inserted into the floor with calculated precision. The inside of the box is two inches deeper than the floor on which it appears to sit.
This box is two inches deeper on the inside than it is on the outside. To install the piece a square hole is cut out of the floor. The bottom two inches of the box sit in the unseen hole. The dimensional distortion is very quiet.
