Bizarre Love Triangle

2003

This play is a reflection on the (im)possibility of accepting diversity and the other. The fragmented body of the neoplasm—the fruit of unstable conditions—overcomes barriers, loves and denies itself and others, wanders around, forgetting its profession. It frequently and with pleasure divides, goes through dangerous palpation, questions the possibility of contact with the experience of the other. Poorly brought up but very successful, it invites us to a trans-species transition.

Ara Peterson, Jim Drain, and Eamon Brown have constructed Bizarre Love Triangle, three multi-colored 10-foot high geodesic spheres, and an animated video projected inside a six-by-eight-foot deep kaleidoscope. The installation also includes a projected video of computer-generated imagery of morphing colors and patterns. The installation is composed of five artworks: K3Chubby CheckerVision Master 1Burl Ives, and Wind Star.
