Description

The Hell depicted by Biko is not just a local Hell, nor just a national Hell, but Global designed for occupation by the Black Man. Creating his own artwork and drawing on fragments of his own personal collection (which is almost a museum in the making) he presents in a small compass a horrifying world that Hieronymous Bosch (had he been a black man) would have instantly recognized.

About the Artist

Emory Biko is the President and founder of “The Museum of the African’s Experience in America.” He maintains a collection of African-American memorabilia. He was born and raised in the Hill District in Pittsburgh, PA.
